Alexander Louis Lavdas

It is with great sadness that we announce that Alexander (Alex) Louis Lavdas, age 67 died on February 21, 2026, in Las Vegas, Nevada his home for nearly a decade. Alex was born in Albany, NY and was the son of the late Louis and Ann Lavdas. The Lavdas family owned and operated the former Manhattan Diner in Albany for many years. Alex was a 1976 graduate of Albany High School. He was employed for over 30 years by the US Postal Service and retired as executive management. Most recently he served in a contractor position that he loved as a Project Manager overseeing the installation large scale conveyer systems throughout the United States, Puerto Rico, and Canada. He was also an Army Veteran.

He was a master builder, carpenter, electrician and self-taught in all the trades where he shined and excelled. He was generous with his time, resources, and skill with his family, friends, and neighbors always extending a kind hand with grace and excellence.

He is survived by his wife, Deborah Ann Reyes, his children, Louis and Courtney Lavdas, former spouse Maria Lavdas of Gainesville, Georgia, his sisters, Alexandra Davis and her husband Robert of Clifton Park, NY and Helen Koonz and her husband Bill of Florida. He also leaves a niece, nephew and four great nieces and nephews. He was the grandfather of Alexander Louis Lavdas.

A funeral service and presentation of Veterans Honors will be held at Davis Funeral Homes in Las Vegas, Nevada. The date and time to be announced on their website www.davisfuneralservices.com. The interment will be held at the Southern Nevada State Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City, Nevada. An additional memorial service will be held in Albany, New York at St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Church on Whitehall Road on Sunday, April 26.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to remember Alex in a special way may make a memorial contribution to ABTA (The American Brain Tumor Association) that served as a continued resource and support to Alex and Deborah throughout his illness.
