Mrs. Angela Riel Qassamali, 72, of Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 10, 2026, with her family by her side.

Angela was born in Naic, Cavite, Philippines on January 27, 1954, the daughter of the late Pedro and Trinidad Riel. She graduated from high school in the Philippines and went on to earn her teaching degree from Western College. She was an English teacher before moving to the United States, where she lived in California. 

On December 13, 1983, Angela married Sultan Qassamali in Los Angeles, California. Together, they built a life centered around family, hard work and love. They welcomed two children, Anthony and Alissa, and went on to open several successful Filipino markets and restaurants in the Las Vegas valley before retiring in 2017. 

Above all, Angela loved her family. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who found great joy in caring for the people she loved. She especially treasured time with grandchildren and enjoyed shopping, traveling and simply being surrounded by family. She was also a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church.

Angela had a loving, lively spirit and a quick wit that could always make those around her smile. She had a way of making her family feel cared for and loved, and those closest to her will remember not only her strength and humor, but also the warmth she brought into their lives. 

She is survived by her beloved husband, Sultan Qassamali; her son, Anthony and Yoradyl Qassamali; and her daughter, Alissa and Jessica Lesniak Ali; her grandchildren, Ava and Amaya Qassamali and Aliyah Lesniak Ali; her sisters, Linda Riel, Emma Enriquez, Gloria Riel, and Nida Ganac; and her brothers, Rolando Riel, Rodel Riel, and Ramon Riel; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and other loved ones. She was predeceased by her sisters, Teresita Castaneda and Bella Ibanez; and her brother, Gene Riel.

Angela will be deeply missed, but the love, laughter and memories she gave her family will remain with them always. 

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 29, with visitation from 8:00-10:00am at Davis Funeral Home, 6200 S Eastern Ave., Las Vegas. A Catholic service will follow at 10:00am, celebrated by Fr. Frank Yncierto. Interment will be in Davis Memorial Park.
