Billy Gahagan, 69, left us far too soon on October 31, 2025, at his home in Las Vegas — just the way he liked things, quick and without a lot of fuss.
A proud Texan through and through, Billy never missed a chance to remind you where he came from — usually punctuated with that famous accent and a twinkle in his blue eyes. His accent could charm anyone, and his stories (often told with some creative “embellishments”) could fill a room with laughter.
Billy was a devoted husband, father, grandpa, friend, and mentor to many. He had a big heart, a quick wit, and a way of making people feel like old friends within minutes. He loved old westerns, a good BBQ, and just about any sport on TV. Sundays were sacred. First to the Cowboys (even when they broke his heart), and more recently, to his beloved Chargers, whose light blue jersey became his favorite game-day attire.
He’s survived by his wife of 29 years, Kim; his kids, Brandon, and Courtney; and his grandson, who adored his “Hop” and could always count on him for a joke, a hug, a story, or his favorite-a sneaky treat.
Billy’s life will be celebrated with laughter, stories, and a few tall tales — just the way he would want it.
