Carol Kemnitz Gotheim

Carol Kemnitz Gotheim, 84, of Las Vegas, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday, April 8th, 2025. Carol was born in 1940 in Billings, Montana to Ardell & Evelyn Kemnitz. She spent her early years in Green River, Wyoming and Wells, Nevada. Carol moved to Las Vegas in 1960 where she attended UNLV while working at the Nevada Test Site. Upon graduation from UNLV, Carol took a position with the Clark County School District Administrative offices as a technical writer.

In 1981, Carol married the love of her life, Allan Gotheim. Carol and Allan were enthusiastic UNLV “Runnin’ Rebels” basketball fans for many years. They were avid bowlers, enjoying local leagues as well as traveling and competing in out-of-town tournaments. When the Golden Knights came to town, Carol became a devoted fan, especially of Marc Andre Fleury.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Ardell and Evelyn, and her husband, Allan. She is survived by her brother, Craig (Barbara) Kemnitz, daughter, Terri (Charles) Joerger, grandsons Brian (Sable) Joerger and Jared (Kendell) Joerger, great-grandchildren, as well as many nephews and nieces.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 31st, 12 pm at Davis Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, Nevada.
