Carolyn Henrietta Slyder

Carolyn Henrietta Slyder, nee Michaelis, 88, of Henderson, Nevada passed away peacefully at her home on April 22, 2026. Carolyn was the heart of her family and will be deeply missed.

Born July 10, 1937, in Henry County, Ohio to the late Arthur and Ethel Michaelis, Carolyn graduated from Malinta Grelton High School in 1955. On March 23, 1968, Carolyn married David Arthur Slyder and together they built a home filled with warmth and laughter raising sons Rick and Scott. She was a devoted member of the New Song Anthem Church.

Carolyn was a talented pianist and had a great love of music. She was a dedicated mother who attended every high school band performance, happily chaperoning band excursions across the Midwest and East Coast. She never missed an opportunity to tell her children how proud she was of them.

Carolyn is survived by her husband of 58 years, David; her children, Rick Alan Rice, (Cynthea) of Woodland Hills, California and Scott Lynn Rice of Henderson, Nevada.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 16, at 11:00 AM at Davis Funeral Home & Memorial Park.
