Charles Patrick Amies, age 72, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 16, 2024, in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was born on December 9, 1951 at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles D. and Clarice C. Amies (Los Alamos, New Mexico), and wife, Linda Oskins Amies.

Chuck graduated from Los Alamos High School and then enlisted in the US Navy in the summer of 1970. Charles served as a Radioman on the USS Guadalupe (1971-1974), the USS Alamo (1979-1981), the USS Hepburn (1981-1982), and the USS Constellation (1985-1988). He retired from the Navy on February 28, 1991 as a Chief Petty Officer. After retiring from the Navy, Chuck worked as a Radiation Control technician at the Los Alamos National Laboratory until his retirement in 2015. In his retirement, Chuck enjoyed traveling with his wife, assembling complicated puzzles, music, and creating beautiful beadwork.

Chuck was a loving, generous, kind, and sweet man who was dedicated to his family and adored his dogs. He will be dearly missed by all those who knew him. We will continue to carry him in our hearts forever.

Chuck is survived by his brothers Gregory Amies (Deborah Newberg) and Richard A. Amies and, his sister Evelyn Amies Swiss (David Swiss); his three children and 6 grandchildren: Connie Amies Aquino (Frank Aquino and 3 children), Charles Roque Amies, and Jennifer Amies Abbott (Jeffrey Abbott and 3 children); and his companion Lourdes Roque Amies.

A memorial service will be held at the Santa Fe National Cemetery in the coming weeks. Fair Winds and Following Seas, Chief. We have the watch.
