Clyde Gail Andress

November 30, 1925 — September 25, 2021

Clyde Gail Andress, born November 30, 1925, in Bisbee, AZ. passed away peacefully September 25, 2021, in Las Vegas.

Ever jovial, kind and helpful, Gail was admired and respected by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Gail moved to Las Vegas with his family in 1931, when he was 6 years old. He attended Fifth Street Elementary School then Las Vegas High, where he met the love of his life.

A true patriot, Gail enlisted and served in the Naval Air Corp during WWII. While still in service to his country Gail married his high school sweetheart, Donna Jo Hanley. Ever since July 9, 1944, she was his constant companion, best friend, soulmate, and wife of 77 years.

Family was Gail’s highest priority, cherished above all else.

Possessed of an exemplary work ethic, Gail’s first jobs were at his grandfather’s Chrysler-Plymouth Agency in Downtown Las Vegas. Subsequently, he worked as a construction foreman for over 25 years.

A good citizen his whole life Gail was active in  JayCees Community Organization. Later he would be involved in various UNLV programs, Nevada State Museum, and reconstruction of the Mohave Desert Heritage Museum at Goffs where he operated his backhoe well into his late 80s. Gail never wavered in his willingness to help anyone who needed a good worker. He was a proud Nevadan.

Gail was an active and adventurous man. He enjoyed traveling the world; he was a nature explorer and a collector, especially of rocks and gems. He loved hunting, car racing, automobiles, motorcycles, and having lunch with family and friends. Gail drove his 34-foot Monaco Motorhome until he was 91, all without a ding or a dent.

Gail is survived by his wife, Donna, son, Don (Madeleine), and daughter, Gaynell.
He is preceded in death by his grandson Michael Andress(Louwanna). He leaves two beloved granddaughters Melanie Tobiasson(Todd) and Jennifer Marshall and seven great-grandchildren: Stephanie, Cindy, Michaelyn, Sarah, Seth, Luke, and Ashlyn, and all the Pulliam and Ruby nieces and nephews.
