David Cary

David A. Cary Sr., (63), of Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away unexpectedly on January 15th, 2023.

‍David was born to James C. Cary Jr. and Shirley E. Cary, on March 6, 1959, in Los Angeles, California. David is a 1977 graduate of John Muir High School in Pasadena California. He then went on to pursue higher education by attending Compton College and Los Angeles Southwest College to study Performing Arts, Theater Arts and Public speaking. His interests in performing arts were carried forward throughout his life with his passion for creating and performing live music as “Devastatin Dave”.

David is survived by his 10 children, Ebony Cary, Cherice Hendershot, Sheila Cook, Vanessa Cary, David Cary Jr., Shirella Cary, Mistah Cary, Cassius Cary, Uriah Cary, and Elijah Cary. Two stepsons, Kameron Williams, and Dante Hubbard. He is also survived by 4 siblings, Renda Davis, James Cary, Christopher Cary, Lisa Cary and 11 grandchildren. David was predeceased by his parents, James C. Cary Jr. and Shirley Cary, and his spouse Sylvia Smith-Cary.

David will be remembered for his strong convictions, love for family, music, and the Lord. He will truly be missed. The LORD is close to all who call on him, yes, to all who call on him in truth. Psalm 145:18.
