David James Hall Sr

David James Hall Sr., of Las Vegas, NV, dies March 02, 2022, at St. Rose Siena Hospital in Henderson, Nevada after going into Cardiac arrest on December 28, 2021. He courageously fought his battle to live for sixty-five days until he was called to his heavenly home to be with the Lord and the family that had passed before him.

David was born on December 12, 1946, to William E. Hall and Marjorie Myrtle Welker in Los Angeles, California.

David attended Cerritos College, and later ITT Tech where he graduated as valedictorian with an Associated degree in computers. He was in the Army for two years where he served in Germany and ranked as an E-5.

He married Brenda Rose Pratt on October 5, 1965, in the Los Angeles Temple where they were sealed for time and eternity. Together they share four children. Nanette Margaretta, David James, Michelle Kristi, and Jared Pratt.

David worked at Sears and Roebuck in his early years, and as an engineer for many years at Hochiki America, and retired from there as well.

He was an amazing pianist and had a beautiful singing voice as well. He played the piano, organ, guitar, and shared his talents often with family and friends. For many years he played piano and sing in the churchward choir, he was the organist for sacrament meetings and played the piano for the children in primary as well. He was the go-to guy to ask to play the piano at weddings, baptisms, special musical events, as well as funerals. David was a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, his family meant the world to him. He was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saint all his life and had a great testimony of the gospel. He loved the Lord with all his heart and shared his testimony often. 

David is survived by his ex-wife Brenda Rose Christmas, children Nanette Van Son (Ron), David Hall Jr. (Tiffany), Michelle Mason (Jimmy), and Jared Hall (Kenna). Grandchildren Amanda Nieto, Ashley Nieto, Jessica Holzknecht (Cody), David Hall III, Emily Van Son, Alyssa Smith (Richard) Makayla Van Son, Emma Hall, Gracie Van Son, Ava Mason, Finley Mason, and great-grandchildren Harrison Reeve, and Michael Nieto-Field, Siblings Philip Hall (Mary Jo), Kathy Colley (Galen), sister-in-laws Shanna Hall, and Wendy Hall, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents William E Hall and Marjorie Myrtle Welker Hall, Gerald Hall, William Hall Jr., Sally Tofilau (Lima), Robert Hall, Thomas Hall, and Daniel Hall.

Funeral Services will be held at the Church of Latter Day Saints, 5750 N. Cimarron Rd. Las Vegas, NV 89149 on March 31, 2022, at 11:00 AM. There will not be a viewing,

Interment will follow at a later date in June at Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City, Nevada.
