Diana Commander was my Fantastic, Terrific, Wonderful Wife who passed on June 8, four days before our 44 year wedding anniversary. Diana and I met at a national business conference in upstate New York in 1977 . Diana was from New Hampshire and I from New York We corresponded and met numerous times before getting married. Diana was the mother of Christine Weaver, step mother to Darren and Sean Commander, grand mother to six and great grand mother to three. Diana was my bright shinning light and total inspiration. Diana was instrumental in helping numerous charitable programs. Diana was 'sun shine' to all who knew her. GOD blessed us all with one of his angles in Diana. Diana I will LOVE YOU for all eternity. It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Diana Gionet Commander, who passed away peacefully on June 8, 2026, in Las Vegas, Nevada, at the age of 81.
Born on February 5, 1945, in Manchester, New Hampshire, Diana lived a life centered on family, love, and compassion. She was known for her caring heart, gentle nature, and unwavering dedication to those she loved. Her warmth and kindness touched the lives of many and will be remembered by all who knew her.
Diana was preceded in death by her parents, Maurice and Doris Gionet; her beloved daughter, Christine Weaver; and her sisters, Evelyn Fletcher and Gloria Averill.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Stephen Commander; her stepsons, Sean Commander and Darren Commander; her sister, Priscilla Desrochers; her granddaughter, Amanda; her step-grandchildren, Tristan, Jared, Raquel, Nicholas, and Bennett; her great-grandchildren, Brooks and Savanna; and her step-great-granddaughter, Zoey. She also leaves behind extended family members and many dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.
Family was the heart of Diana's life. She took immense pride in her family and treasured every moment spent with those she loved. Her love, wisdom, and encouragement helped shape the lives of those around her, creating a lasting legacy that will continue through future generations.
Though she will be deeply missed, Diana's spirit will live on in the memories she created, the love she shared, and the lives she touched. Her legacy is one of devotion, strength, and unconditional love.
A life well lived, a heart well loved, and a memory that will be cherished forever.
