Edgar Danghala Alvarez

Edgar Danghala Alvarez, 68, of Las Vegas, Nevada, Passed away February 18, 2026 in Las Vegas Nevada.

Edgar was born in Binalonan, Philippines to Esperidion and Angelina Alvarez on April 8, 1957.

Edgar studied at Feati University and worked in the family business as a bus driver. In 1994 he arrived in Hilo, Hawaii working various jobs and earning his US citizenship. Shortly after he made his way to Las Vegas, Nevada where he worked his way into casino management, married Josephine Catanghal and started a family. Catastrophe struck during the 2008 financial crisis when he was laid off, but through his valiancy and dedication, worked multiple jobs to ensure that his family was taken care of. Through his own skill and determination, he eventually settled on a career as an auto mechanic. Where although he tirelessly worked long hours and difficult conditions, he not only enjoyed it, but was able to make a multitude of friends through his charisma and kindness on the job. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family and all who knew him.

Edgar is survived by his wife (Josephine), his two sons (John & Edgar), his sisters (Edna Alvarez, Ellen Robea, Annie Muthlah, Susie Ibarra), and his brother (Esperidion Alvarez).

Funeral services will be held 9:00am Friday, March 6th at Davis Funeral Homes & Memorial Park (Eastern location). Burial will follow at the same location at 11:00am same day
