Edith Mills

Edith Mills, 81, of both Las Vegas, Nevada and Lisbon, Maine passed away peacefully on July 14, 2023 of natural causes. She was born on September 23, 1941 and raised by Leroy and Guess Hodges in Tennille, Georgia. Edith was predeceased by her four siblings, Homer, Donald, Connie, and Tina.

Edith married Mainard Mills, Jr. and they raised three boys while Mainard served in the United States Airforce; Edith working most of her career as a switchboard operator at Circus Circus Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.

Edith will join her late husband and their son, Mainard Mills, III into eternal tranquility. She is survived by her son Marcelino and his wife Julie, and her son Mariano and his wife Dawn. She was blessed with eight grandchildren, Jared, Kyra, Israel, Soentriana, Jasinda, QayShaun, QayVon, and Spencer. She is also survived by eight great grandchildren, Kingston, Presley, Joshua, Louis, Liam, Madison, Chyna, and Leonardo. Edith will be forever loved and remembered by all who knew her, including her best friend and confidant, of over fifty years, Melissa Smith.

Edith’s lifetime was dedicated to caring for others and lending a tender-hearted ear. She was a self-described TV fanatic and had a smile with laughter that would light up a room. Many will remember her as a humble and gentle spirited woman.

The family extends tremendous gratitude to Edith’s numerous caregivers who provided help alongside her family, from both private duty nursing and through Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice.

Burial services will be held at Davis Funeral Home at 6200 S. Eastern Ave. in Las Vegas on Monday September 18, 2023 at 11:00 a.m.
