Elaine Williams, a cherished daughter, cousin, friend, and gifted educator,
passed away peacefully on November 1, 2025, at the age of 66.
Born to Daisy and Cleal Williams on December 28, 1957, Elaine lived a life full of purpose,
creativity, and connection. From an early age, she was drawn to the power of words. At John
Adams High School, she discovered a deep love for language and literature—passions that
would shape her life’s work. Elaine pursued Journalism at Bowling Green State University,
where she honed her storytelling skills and built friendships that lasted a lifetime. She later
continued her education at Cleveland State University, focusing on communication and
education. A proud Falcon through and through, Elaine remained an active alumna, always
eager to support her alma mater. Before stepping into the classroom, Elaine made her mark in
television, where her poise, warmth, and eloquence made her a natural in the newsroom. She
eventually brought those same gifts to teaching, where she inspired countless students with her
belief in the transformative power of expression.
Elaine was deeply involved in her community. As a member of the Black Professional
Association, she mentored others, championed professional growth, and supported initiatives
close to her heart. She also found joy and purpose in a close-knit community group, where she
built lasting friendships rooted in service and shared values. Her faith was a guiding light. A
devoted member of Olivet Baptist Church, Elaine followed in the footsteps of her mother, Daisy,
continuing a legacy of spiritual commitment and compassion. Her presence in the congregation
was steady and full of grace.
Elaine found joy in life’s simple pleasures—savoring a glass of wine, dancing to her favorite
songs, and sharing laughter that could light up a room. Though she never married or had
children, she poured her love into her students, her family, her church, and her community. She
made everyone feel seen, heard, and valued.
A celebration of Elaine’s life will be held on January 3rd, 2026,
at St. Adalbert Church, 2347 E. 83rd St., Cleveland, OH 44104.
Elaine’s life was a beautiful testament to the impact of kindness, education, and community. Her
legacy lives on in the many lives she touched with her wisdom, warmth, and unwavering spirit.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites those who wish to honor Elaine’s memory to support local
literacy programs, schools, or Olivet Baptist Church—causes that reflect her lifelong dedication
to learning, faith, and service
