Elizabeth
T. Newman
Mar 9, 1933 — Aug 28, 2026
Las Vegas, Nevada
Elizabeth T. Newman was born on March 9, 1933, in Baltimore, Maryland. On August 28, 2026, at Valley Medical Center, Elizabeth peacefully slipped away into eternal rest.
Elizabeth received her education through the Baltimore City School System, where she earned her diploma. Throughout her life, she held various positions, including roles at Sears and Western Electric, before beginning a new chapter in Las Vegas. In 1989, Elizabeth relocated to Las Vegas, Nevada. In 1993, when the MGM Grand opened on the Strip, she became part of the original opening staff and dedicated her service there until her retirement.
After retirement, Elizabeth devoted her days doing God's work. She found a church home that she enjoyed and faithfully attended until her health began to decline in 2024. Fondly known as Elsie by those close to her, she was an independent, intelligent, kind, and strong-willed woman who deeply loved her family and friends. She loved reading the Bible and teaching God's Word.
Preceded in death by her mother and father, Helen and George Newman, and her two sisters, Patricia Newman and Helen Newman, her previous husband, Charles Edward Gross. Elizabeth leaves to cherish her fond and loving memories to her only son and daughter-in-law, Gregory L. Gross and Leah Gross; her grandchildren, Tracey Young, Gregory G. Gross, Dakeisha Gross, and Tiesha Gross; her great-grandsons, Artez Blanks and Andre' Pearson Jr.; a new great-great-grandson; Special Niece Dessire Douglas and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and special friends at the Oakey Assisted Living.
