Erlinda Cadiente Santos

May 14, 1946 — March 22, 2025

Las Vegas, Nevada

We mourn the loss of our beloved Erlinda C. Santos, 78, of Las Vegas, NV. She passed away peacefully on March 22, 2025 in Nathan Adelson Hospice after an arduous battle with cancer. She was a brave soldier and fought the fight head strong with unwavering faith and trust in the Lord to help her through the entire battle. Her tenacity and courage was salient in the life she well lived. She is truly an epitome of love and commitment to her family and other people she has encountered with personally, professionally, and spiritually. Without a doubt, we are fortunate to call her Mom and Lola as she has always inspired us all to do better in all our endeavors.

Erlinda or often called Linda was born in Manila, Philippines to Elpidio & Francisca Cadiente on May 14, 1946. She attended Philippine College of Commerce for her tertiary education and began working as a secretary/stenographer and purchaser shortly thereafter for Laguna Lake Development Authority under United Nations Development Program.

She met her former husband Rafael J. Santos in 1968 through introduction of her close friends at work and later married in April 6, 1969, and were blessed with 4 children of whom one daughter died as an angel not more than a month after birth in February 1976.

She also had vocational training in different fields as a dressmaker/patternmaker, cosmetologist, reflexologist and accupressurist. She loved to cook for intimate friends and family members, and big meals for parties with her famous Pancit, Fish Lumpia, and Arroz Caldo which she meticulously crafted in different batches for best flavorful results. She enjoyed singing contemporary English songs of yesteryears & Original Pilipino Music (OPM). She was a graceful ballroom dancer and also an excellent swimmer. A truly a multi-talented woman. Her biggest satisfaction was to wholeheartedly help musculoskeletal issues of adults requiring massage therapy and when sickly children and adults stricken with long term cough with fever used to come to her aid. She was blessed by God with her gift of warm healing hands.

In her early adult years, she was a dedicated homemaker and mother. She was also a business woman who combed through the different markets of Manila to procure merchandise to sell to customers in the building offices of Makati with payments in installment plans even before credit cards and debit cards were made known and available in the Philippines. She was a pious member and servant of the Handmaid of the Lord, of the Nativity of the Lord's Parish in Cubao. She unselfishly sacrificed a lot to help augment our livelihood while undertaking the biggest role of motherhood.

Erlinda is preceded in death by her parents Elpidio & Francisca, daughter Shanida Charina C. Santos, and older brother Edwin Cadiente.

She is survived by former husband Rafael J. Santos, children Cresinni & Alfonso Tan, Carlo & Dona Santos, and Christopher & Katherine Santos; brother Angelito Cadiente, and sister Ma. Nelie Malapit; grandchildren Jared, Kevin, Kenneth, and Kyle Tan; Bryan, Ethan, and Chloe Santos; Micah Geonina, Cheenah Janine, and Christopher John Santos.
