Errol Allan Simpson

Errol Allan Simpson, 64 years old entered into his eternal resting place on 2/25/22 at Desert Springs Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada. 

He was born on November 3rd, 1957 in Chicago, Illinois to Ann Bernice Clethen Simpson and Robert Tenant Simpson, II. Errol attended elementary school at Saint Columbanus and Hales Franciscan. He graduated from Thornton High School in 1975. Errol played football at Thornton Junior College and at Western Illinois University (WIU). He graduated from WIU in 1981 with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Political Science and a minor in African American Studies. He was a proud member of the Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity.

On September 8, 1984, Errol married Sherlene Mims Simpson in Galesburg, Illinois. Their union produced two loving daughters, Amber Simpson Lizarraga, and Ariel Simpson. He has one grandchild, Lisandro Lizarraga. 

Errol worked as a Supervisor in the Environmental Service department at the University of Chicago and later left that job to work at Precision Universal Joint company where is was a Supervisor in the Parts department. Errol had a passion for cooking barbecue and opened a restaurant in Macomb, Illinois called Fantashia’s Rib house in 1985. He also operated a concession stand business called Q-City BBQ from 2003-2004. In 1990, Errol moved to Las Vegas, Nevada. He would have a few jobs, but his favorite job was being the Maitre’d for the Hard Rock Hotel. He absolutely loved that job and took pride in providing security for the musical stars and celebrities that frequented the establishment. He became ill in 1995 and entered early retirement due to health reasons. 

Errol accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior at an early age. He was a member of Gethsemani Missionary Baptist Church. Errol was preceded in death by his parents, Ann and Robert Simpson, and a brother, Tyrone Simpson. He leaves behind his wife, Sherlene, their daughters, Amber Simpson Lizarraga, Ariel Simpson, a son in law, Aldo Lizarraga, a grandchild, Lisandro Lizarraga, a brother, Robert Tenant Simpson III, a sister in law, Lisa Simpson (Tyrone), and a host of nieces and nephews.
