SFC Falani Taifane Pritchard U.S. Army, Retired High Talking Chief Taifane Falani Pritchard, 71, an accountant, of Henderson, passed away March 6, 2010, at 3:57 p.m. He was born Oct. 30, 1938, the son of former American Samoa Senator High Talking Chief Taifane Falani Pritchard Sr., of Poloa, American Samoa and Amaile Lavatai Pritchard of Nuuuli, American Samoa both have preceded him in death. He was a sixyear resident of Nevada. He is survived by his wife, of 38 years, Surita Sooialo TaifanePritchard seven children three grandchildren five sisters, one of which has preceded him in death one brother and numerous cousins, nephews and nieces. During the course of his life, he faithfully served his family, country and the Lord. He served as High Talking Chief for his family for 17 years. Also, he served his country for 25 years and completed two tours during the Vietnam War and eventually retired honorably from the U.S. Army as a highlydecorated sergeant first class. He was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints, where he served numerous callings leading up to his last vocation of Pago Samoa Central Stakes patriarch. He embraced and enjoyed his family and home life, was an avid reader, found joy in walking, loved to sing and made time to be charitable to others.
