Mr. Frank William Denson

Mr. Frank William Denson, affectionately known as Sonny, was born on August 12, 1942 in Talladega County to the parentage of Frank Sidney Denson and Lucinda Isabell Jemison Denson. He graduated from Ophelia Hill School in 1960. After high school, he attended Tuskegee Institute. For the love of his family, he sacrificed his education and enlisted in the United States Army. He served his country six years. During his military service he ranked as a staff sergeant and was awarded medals for Good Conduct and Marksman.  After service he worked as an electrician at the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power. He retired after 30 plus years as an inspector. Frank received his Bachelors of Arts from California State University of Long Beach.  At a young age, Frank received Christ as his personal Savior. He fulfilled his kingdom assignment as an ordained deacon and by serving the homeless.

On October 14, 1967, Frank married Ora McCree. To this union their one daughter, Rose LaDrish, was born.  Later in life Frank had another daughter Zuri.  In 1983, Frank was joined in marriage to Daisy Lee Tisdale and gained two more daughters, Sheron and Frankie.

As a child, Frank always had an inquisitive brilliant mind and was a hard worker who willingly did his chores. His strong work ethic was a part of his character. He was a “natural” as a handy man. He enjoyed projects that required repair or restoration. He was gifted in electronics and very mechanically inclined. He also was a talented craftsman in wood work. His personality was infectious along with a sense of humor that was quick-witted. He enjoyed jazz, would remain “humble” as he beat you playing spades and bid whist, and was a great competitor in the game of dominoes.

Frank departed this life on February 1, 2023. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Mary, his daughter Frankie, and his beloved wife Daisy Lee.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his daughters Rose Denson Vaxter of Moreno Valley, CA , Zuri Hudson McCree of Gulfport, MS, Sheron (Phillip) Hayes of Las Vegas NV, his sister Dr. Cornelia Gillyard of Atlanta, GA, one brother Eugene (Vivian) Denson of Oxford, AL, aunt Lorraine Denson of Talladega, AL, grandchildren: Tyrone, Marvonna, Stacey, Jacyn, Mackai, Zechari, Jonathan, Larry, Morning Star, Marquetia, Tony, and Marciela, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

We know that all things work together for good to them that love God,

to them who are the called according to his purpose. For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.

Mr. Frank William Denson of Las Vegas, Nevada, was promoted to glory on February 1, 2023.

His Homegoing Celebration will be held on February 15, 2023 at the Davis Funeral Home ... Burial immediately following.
