Frederick Stewart Withey

FREDERICK WITHEY: Frederick S. ""Fred"" Withey, 85, of Las Vegas, passed away June 28, 2018. He was born April 12, 1933 in Groton, CT, and was a 45-year resident of Nevada. Fred joined the Marines before enlisting with United States Air Force. This decision to join the USAF eventually led to Fred and his family relocating to Las Vegas. Fred retired from the USAF after 22 years while stationed at Nellis AFB after reaching the rank of Master Sergeant. After his military retirement, Fred joined the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department as a Corrections Officer. Upon retiring from Metro, Fred was a real and true retiree who had time to spend with his wife, his children & grandchildren, and time to watch every game for his team, the Green Bay Packers. Fred was preceded in death by his son Stephen Withey. Fred is survived by his wife of 35 years, Dawn Pearson; his seven children, Stewart Withey, Peter Withey and his wife, LaVonne, Paula Withey Alexander, Duane Withey, Donald Withey, Lance Withey and his wife, Susan and Leslie Withey. He is also survived by his ten cherished grandchildren, Tyler, Sheila, Michael, Rachel, Christopher, David, Matthew, Dylan, Magdalena, and Courtland. It was also a thrill for Fred to greet his first great-grandchild, Mo'orea, earlier this year. Memorial services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 21, at Davis Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 6200 S. Eastern Ave.
