Garth Phillip Abbott was born August 29, 1948 to Phillip and Thelma Abbott.
Garth graduated from Rancho and attended BYU. He was a captain in the Army National Guard and also served a LDS mission to Scotland and as a bishop to the University ward.
He and Diana have five children and 20 grandchildren.
Garth passed away peacefully Aug. 2 as a result of cancer.
Closed casket visitation will be 6:308 p.m. Friday Aug. 5. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, both at the LDS Chapel at 3901 E. Viking Road, Las Vegas. Mesquite Cemetery interment.
