Gerald Alvin "Jerry" Nix 
December 6, 1952 - August 6, 2026

Gerald Alvin "Jerry" Nix, 73, passed away on August 6, 2026.

Jerry grew up in Englewood, Colorado, and attended Cherry Creek High School, where he was a member of the lacrosse and football teams. After graduating, he proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1971 to 1975.

He was proud to be a Marine, and his service remained an important part of who he was throughout his life. After leaving the Marine Corps, Jerry joined his family's printing business, A.D. Nix & Sons Printing. He followed his father into the trade and enjoyed a long career working in all facets of the printing industry. He was deeply loyal to the family business and proud of the work his family had built together.

Jerry was strong-willed, confident, fiercely independent, and never afraid to speak his mind. He loved a good time, had a serious sweet tooth, and was always willing to lend a helping hand to someone he loved.

Golf was one of Jerry's greatest passions. He lived for the next round and was always looking for a foursome or another opportunity to play. He also enjoyed gambling and, whether on the golf course or trying his luck, Jerry appreciated a little competition.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Joan and Alvin Nix, and his brother, Tom Nix.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Sheila Nix; his son, Jeremy, and grandchildren Brendan, Riley, and Penelope; his daughter, Jenelle (Joseph) Iuliucci, and grandchildren Kaitlyn, Nathan, and Michael; and his daughter, Elizabeth (Terrence) Moffitt, and grandchildren Jonathan, Jacquelyn, and Isabelle. He is also survived by his brothers, Dayne (Linda) and James (Annie); his sister, Katherine "Kay" (Dennis) Sharon; his great-granddaughter, Anastasia; and his beloved dog, Lucky.

Jerry will also be deeply missed by his extended family, including his in-laws, and by the many friends he made throughout his life.

Jerry will be remembered as a proud Marine, a devoted family man, an avid golfer, and a man who lived life on his own terms. He worked hard, loved his family, and was always ready to help when someone he loved needed him. He leaves behind a lifetime of memories and stories that his family and friends will continue to share.

A service honoring Jerry’s life will be held on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City, Nevada.

Following the service, family and friends are invited to continue celebrating Jerry’s life at Giuseppe’s Bar & Grill, 2630 W. Horizon Ridge Pkwy, Henderson, NV 89052 from 3:30–6:30 p.m. Please join us for drinks, appetizers, and time together sharing memories of Jerry.
