Glenn Frederick Pontsler

Glenn F. Pontsler, 83, passed away peacefully on September 29, 2018 surrounded by his family. Glenn was born December 28, 1934 in San Diego, California to mother Edith and father Glen. He grew up with five brothers Robert, Bill, Richard, Mike, and Raymond, and three sisters Betty, Bunny, and Doris. Glenn is survived by his wife Mira and his three daughters- Yvonne, Andriana, and Debbie. He was graced with two grandchildren, Danielle and Tyler, Two sisters-in-law, Milica (Patrick) and Ljiljana (Vladimir). Glenn joined the U.S. Marines on his 17th birthday and served for 20 years. He met his wife Mira, the love of his life, in Belgrade (former Yugoslavia) in 1959 at the American Embassy where she was working. They got married in 1961 in Belgrade. He traveled all over the world as a Marine, three times going back to Vietnam. He loved being a Marine, as it has provided for his life and family. The last four years were hard, as he was being taken care of by his wife Mira who took care of him at home, as well as Hospice Care at home. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. We all miss him and will continue to keep his memories alive.
