Hattye Faulkner

November 5, 1939 — June 10, 2023

Hattye Grace Faulkner was born to Alonia White and Rudolph Diggs on November 5, 1939, in Princeton Kentucky. She attended grade school in Princeton Kentucky and later moved to Indianapolis Indiana where she attended Crispus Attucks High School. It was there that met her first husband Charles A Granison. At the tender age of 17 she married Charles on July 17, 1957. To this union two children were born, Charles Dewayne Granison April 26, 1958, and Gwendolyn Louise Granison December 10, 1960. Both Hattye and Charles worked at Western Electric telephone company to support their growing family.

In 1968 Hattye move to Los Angeles CA with her two children to start a new chapter of life. Life in CA proved to be difficult for Hattye with little family support and no transportation. Her love for God showed up early as every Sunday she would walk to church with her two children for what seemed like miles. She soon got a job at Robert Shaw Controls, a manufacturing Co where she worked until she retired in 2000.

On February 16, 2002, Hattye married Joseph A Faulkner II, the love of her life.  Through this union Hattye gained a loving daughter Sterling Banks and a devoted son Joseph Faulkner III and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren. Hattye’s marriage to Joseph proved to be a joyous one as they enjoyed traveling and spending time with family. Hattye and Joseph enjoyed 21 years of marriage.

Hattye and Joseph attended Community Baptist Church in Henderson NV. Hattye loved her Church home where she served as a Mother of the church. One of Hattye’s proudest moments was her completion of the Evangelism course that was administered at Community Baptist. Shortly after the passing of her beloved Joseph, Hattye went to be with her Heavenly Father and Joseph.

Hattye is preceded in death by her parents Rudolph Diggs and Alonia Smith. She leaves behind to cherish  son Charles D Granison, Daughter’s Gwendolyn L Granison, Sterling Banks (John), son Joseph Faulkner III (Corliss) Grandchildren Charles Sheats, Miyawn Pead, Kim Faulkner-Camacho (Jesus), Joseph A. Faulkner IV (Cozetta), Kehli Faulkner-Berry (Terence), Dray Banks (Kayla), great-grandchildren Joseph A. Faulkner V, Joshua A. Faulkner, Jeremiah Camacho, Jahsyr Berry, Josiah A. Faulkner, Brendan Jordan Camacho, Brielle Joy Camacho, Jonah A. Faulkner, Carson Banks, Casey Banks and a host of family and friends. Hattye’s love of Christ will live on the hearts and minds of the family she leaves behind.
