Hazel Marie Lockhart

Hazel Marie Lockhart, Las Vegas passed away April 14, 2024, at Villa Court Assisted Living, Las Vegas. Born September 25, 1926, in Quincy, Mass. She was the daughter of Merrium and Alice Porter. She loved Music and dancing; she enjoyed her social life with her many friends. She was a member of the American Legion since 1970. Hazel and her husband James Lockhart started the LD Lockhart Post 14 in Las Vegas in 1983 and Hazel put together the Ladies Auxiliary for the post the following year 1984.

She has been on the Executive Board for 7 years prior years she served as Treasurer, Vice President, President of the Unit, Unit Chairman of ALA Emergency Fund, President of State Department, Department Historian, and past Western Division National Vice President. Hazel held many positions within the Post during her near 60 years of service.

Hazel is preceded in death by her husband Clifford Greeding and her daughter Charlette Forbes.  Surviving are her children, Andre (Bud) Damrill, and Randall Forbes. Also, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.

Services to be held at Davis Funeral Home 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Las Vegas NV 89119 on Tuesday April 23, 2024, Visitation to begin at 11:00 AM, Funeral Services will start at 12:00 PM with burial to follow at Davis Memorial Park.

Reverend Johnny Crosby will be officiating the services, with Dept. Chaplain Laurie Diefenbach conducting the interment.
