Longtime Las Vegas resident, Helen Marie Hinderer Ursin, passed away Sunday November 18, 2018, just two days shy of her 95th birthday. She was born in Clarion, PA to Howard Wayne Hinderer and Ida Sliker Hinderer on November 20, 1923. Shortly after high school, she moved to Washington D.C., where she met the love of her life, Ephin Ursin. Together, they worked in the FBI and they were married on August 11, 1943. Helen and her husband moved to New Orleans in 1945. The couple then moved to Baton Rouge where she helped her husband manage all the local drive-in movie theaters. They eventually moved to Las Vegas around 1970. She worked at the International Hotel (Las Vegas Hilton) as a showroom/ restaurant cashier until retirement. While there she met and befriended many showroom headliners. In addition to being a loving wife and mother, Helen was an incredibly hard worker and was very active up until her last days. She was preceded in death by Ephin, her husband of 68 years. She is survived by sons, Rodney (wife, Denise) and Gregory (Poplarville, MS) and grandson, Erik Ursin (Portland, OR).
Graveside service will be held at 1:00PM, Monday, November 26, 2018 at Davis Memorial Park, 6200 South Eastern Avenue, Las Vegas NV, 89119.
