Hiser Marion Johnston lll, 45, of Las Vegas NV was called home on November 19, 2018. He was born to Hiser Marion Johnston Jr. and the late La Donna Jean Johnston, on July 26, 1973 at Whiteman AFB, Missouri.
Hiser honorably served for 10 years in the United States Navy, of which five of those years were at sea. Hiser attained the rank of Petty Officer Third Class (PO3) where he worked in various rates while at sea from Boatswain to Navigation Specialist. Hiser will forever be a proud ""plankowner"" for the Nimitz class USS Harry S. Truman (CVN-75) nuclear aircraft carrier, as he was a member of the initial crew when the Truman was commissioned in 1998. While stationed in Seattle, WA, he was a distinguished Navy Recruiter, a highly coveted position given to only exemplary members of the Navy.
Decorations and medals earned during his time in the Navy include the National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Meritorious Unit Commendation, Navy Good Conduct Medal, Gold Wreath Award (2), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Navy Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, Navy Pistol Sharpshooter Ribbon, and the Navy Recruiting Service Ribbon.
Hiser left the Navy in 2008 to join the civilian work force where he worked primarily in the private security services field helping to protect others. He was an avid New York Giants football fan, and a dedicated Atlanta Braves baseball fan. Hiser also spent his time speaking to and motivating young veterans struggling to adapt to civilian life.
Hiser is preceded by his mother, La Donna J. Johnston. He is survived by his son, Markeyz Johnston of Indian Springs, NV, his father, Hiser M. Johnston Jr. (Deborah) of Las Vegas, NV, his two older brothers John C. Dawson of Atlanta, GA, and Mark A. Dawson (Stephanie) of Highlands Ranch, CO, and his only sister Marlo A. Walker (Michael) of Atlanta, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews , relatives and friends.
