James was a man characterized by steadfast loyalty, quiet strength, and unwavering commitment to those he loved. His character was defined not by grand declarations, but by consistent acts of generosity, protection, and dependable presence. He expressed love not through words, but through action.
At the age of seven, James and his family fled war-torn Laos in 1981 in pursuit of safety and the promise of a better future in the United States. Those formative experiences instilled resilience, perseverance, and determination that guided him throughout his life. Upon settling in Connecticut, he worked tirelessly to build a stable and meaningful life for those he loved.
After graduating high school, James attended Sacred Heart University and pursued a career in technology. Much of his professional growth came through self-direction, discipline, and a relentless drive to expand his knowledge and skills. Beginning as a desktop support technician, he built a strong technical foundation before advancing into cybersecurity, where he continued to refine his expertise through persistence.
Strong-willed and principled, James stood firmly in his convictions. Beneath that resolute exterior was a devoted family man whose greatest priority was ensuring those he loved felt secure, cared for, and protected.
James fully embraced life through its simple but meaningful moments, finding the greatest joy in time spent with family and friends. He loved hosting in his home, cooking for those closest to him, and creating lasting memories filled with warmth, laughter, and connection.
James also shared a profound bond with his dogs, Sonny, Buddy, and Sophie, who were cherished members of his family. They brought him comfort, companionship, and joy. He cared for them with the same love and devotion he gave to those closest to him.
After suffering a devastating stroke, James passed away on May 1. James is survived by his loving wife, daughter, stepdaughter, siblings, aunt, uncle, and extended family.
Though his passing leaves a profound emptiness, his legacy remains alive in the hearts of those who loved him.
