Jane Jacobs

Laura Jane Jacobs, 70, of Las Vegas, NV, passed away on August 13, 2018 in Las Vegas. Jane was born in Cimarron, NM, to Harold and Winifred (Peggy) Lambert on August 23, 1947. She was a graduate of Cimarron High School and Draughons Business College of Albuquerque, NM.

Jane worked as a secretary for the Job Corp in Albuquerque, where she met William R. (Bill) Jacobs. They were wed on November 30, 1968 at chapel 2 at Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque. Throughout Bill's 21-year Air Force career, they resided in Albuquerque, Great Falls, MT, and San Bernardino, CA, before settling in Las Vegas in 1979, where she became a full-time homemaker and mother. She is best remembered for her home entertaining, gracious hospitality, and quick wit. She loved to travel, spend time with family, care for the family basset hounds, and support Bill in his career endeavors. Her hobbies included being an avid reader, sewing, solving crossword puzzles, enjoying music, and dancing. She was a 42 year breast cancer survivor.

Jane is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, William Jacobs of Las Vegas, son, Christopher Jacobs of South San Francisco, CA, sisters Judy Lybrand of Los Lunas, NM, and Joyce Douglass of Tulsa, OK, nephews Gary Douglass of Tulsa, and Robert Reyner of Albuquerque, and niece Amy Reyner of San Francisco, CA.

Visitation will be at 1:00pm, Monday, August 20, 2018 at Davis Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Avenue, Las Vegas, NV. Funeral Services will be at 2:00pm and burial will follow at Davis Memorial Park. Arrangements are by Davis Funeral Homes and Memorial Park.
