Janet Gail Hopkins

Janet Gail Hopkins, 75, of Henderson, NV., passed away on February 10th, 2024, at St Rose Hospital in Henderson NV. after a short illness.

Janet was born in San Mateo, CA, to Herbert Soma and Ray Ingram on March 11th, 1948.

Janet is preceded in death by her parents and her youngest son, Sgt. Ryan Hopkins.


Janet is survived by her husband David, her children, Aaron and wife Felicia Hopkins, her son Chad Hopkins, her daughter Leda Hopkins and her two grandchildren, Christopher, and Katelynn Hopkins.


Janet was married in 1985 to David Hopkins and they had four children, Aaron, Leda, Chad, and Ryan. Janet was a beloved wife and mother who loved life and family. After retirement, in early 2015, she moved to Henderson, NV and thoroughly enjoyed the area. She loved to travel and was always planning family vacations.


Although born in California, she spent her younger years in Texas before moving to the Chicago area, where she attended West Aurora High School and then college at the Art Institute of Chicago. After college, she moved to the SF Bay area where she would marry and raise her children. Later in life, she decided to become a Pastry Chef and attended Tante Marie Culinary School in San Francisco CA. She worked for a high-end Italian restaurant in the Berkely Hills making deserts of her choice for the restaurant.


On March 2nd, 2024, at Davis Funeral Home (6200 South Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, NV. 89119) there will be a Visitation (12 PM - 2 PM), a Memorial (2 PM - 3 PM) and a Celebration of Life (3 PM - 5 PM) gathering. Janet will be laid to rest at Roselawn Cemetery in Livermore CA. next to her son Ryan. Date and Time TBD.
