Jeffery Alan Welte

March 26, 1969 — September 25, 2025

Las Vegas, Nevada

Jeffery “Jeff” Alan Welte, 56, of Las Vegas, NV, passed away on September 25, 2025. Jeff was born Mar. 26, 1969, in Pittsburgh, PA, to Harold “Hal” C. Welte and Nancy Jane McFarland, the youngest of three boys.

Jeff was a wrestler in high school. He went with some friends to church and accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior. In 1988, Jeff joined the United States Air Force and was stationed at Minot Air Force Base, ND. He was a missile maintenance specialist. Jeff served during Operation Desert Shield/Storm. This is where he met his best friend Eric Bradley.

When Jeff was honorably discharged and later married Helen Strader on Aug. 1, 1992. They moved to northern Nevada and Jeff used his GI Bill to go to college and study to be an x-ray tech. During that time, he worked as a security guard for a gold mine near Winnemucca, NV. When Jeff had finished his associates degree, they moved to Las Vegas for him to attend UNLV. Jeff was a wonderful father as two children blessed this union: Elizabeth and Benjamin. Jeff specialized in special procedures to become an angio tech. He first worked for Sunrise Hospital and later continued his long medical career at the St. Rose Hospitals. Jeff and Helen divorced in 2011.

He traveled with friends to Switzerland and participated in a working church trip to the Dominican Republic. A few years ago he and Elizabeth went on a vacation to Spain, where they saw many shows and participated in bee keeping. He recently joined a curling team with close friend Krista Hamlin. Jeff can proudly say he was an avid movie watcher, seeing every Star Wars, Star Trek, adventure/space/sci-fi/cop/mystery/Disney/you name it, he saw it, movie or tv show. And yes, even Bridgerton and Pride and Prejudice, which are his daughter’s favorites.

Jeff was an amazing father, not to just his real children but to his bonus kids as well, especially Mikala Mikrut and Ryan Kennedy. He loved supporting all his kids and was the first to volunteer to go on any adventure or outing or vacation. Jeff always opened his home to whoever needed a place to stay and hosted many friends in their time of need. He was a self-less man who welcomed the many rowdy theatre parties, movie nights, murder mystery parties, and board game nights. You could find him in the corner of any function with a plate of food, petting the dog, and offering dad advice to anyone who needed some parental guidance.

Jeff is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth Welte of Las Vegas, brother Bruce (Beverly) Welte, and stepmother Jean Welte of Pittsburgh, PA. Preceding him in death are his parents, brother Mark Welte, and son Benjamin Welte.

Jeff will be remembered as a loving father and special friend to all who knew him.

His service will be held at Davis Funeral Home (Eastern) on October 18, 2025 from 5-7 pm. All are welcome to come and celebrate Jeff’s life.
