John Andrew Farnan Jr., 95, beloved Uncle, Son and Brother, was called to his eternal resting place on August 30, 2024. He entered this world on March 31, 1929 in Saint Joseph, MO, born to John Andrew Sr. and Geraldine Agnes (Gray) Farnan. He is survived by his nephew Michael Ray Henderson; sister Mary Adele (Farnan) Henderson; nephew Mark Anthony Farnan; niece Janet Marie (Henderson) Coleman; niece Rebecca (Farnan) Lane and numerous great nephews and nieces. John served in the Army from 1950-1952.
John was born in St. Joseph. Mo and relocated to San Diego, Ca in 1943. He served in the U.S. Army after WWII and graduated from college after that. He worked in the accountancy and finance field for 40 years for Santa Anita Racetrack, Internal Revenue Service and US Navy - Dept. of Defense. Uncle Johnny never married and spent his spare time visiting his brother, sister, nephews and nieces. He loved horse racing, the dessert southwest, touring Ireland, the St. Louis Cardinals and in his early days played on the junior professional golf tour. He was a unique character and will be dearly missed by his friends and family.
There will be a Mass in memory of John at 10 AM on November 24 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Laughlin, NV.
