Karen Ruth Ullom passed away peacefully at her home on June 18, 2026, at the age of 84.

She was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on October 17, 1941, to Eunice and Roy Lawson. As an infant, Karen moved with her parents to Long Beach, California, where she spent most of her childhood. At age 14, her father's naval career took the family to Okinawa, Japan, for a memorable year before they returned to Long Beach, where she graduated from David Starr Jordan High School.

In 1965, while vacationing with her parents at Cottonwood Cove on Lake Mohave, Nevada, Karen was introduced to the love of her life and husband of 57 years, George "Joe" Ullom, III. The couple was married on December 7, 1968, at the Presbyterian Church in Las Vegas, Nevada. The early years of their marriage brought wonderful adventures and new beginnings. They first moved to Washington, D.C., where Joe worked at the U.S. Capitol and Karen worked for a defense contractor. It was there that they joyfully welcomed their son, George "Joey" Ullom, IV, in 1969. A subsequent move to Salt Lake City, Utah, brought the happy addition of their daughter, Kristin Rochelle, in 1972.

In 1976, the family relocated to Las Vegas. Karen dedicated many years to being a loving homemaker and a compassionate caregiver to her husband's elderly grandmother. As her children grew, she began a fulfilling career as a clerk for the Clark County Justice Court, from which she retired in 2005. Karen's life was defined by her devotion to her family. Sadly, she was preceded in death by her cherished son, Joey, in 2011. She leaves behind a legacy of love and is survived by her devoted husband, Joe; her loving daughter, Kristin; and a large circle of relatives and dear friends who will miss her deeply.
