Kenneth Elmer Laswell, 67, of Las Vegas, passed away March 12, 2010. Kenny was born August 26, 1942, in Long Beach, Calif., and moved to Las Vegas in 1947. He grew up in North Las Vegas, where he became one of the youngest ever to work on the Las Vegas Strip. Kenny joined the U.S. Army in September 1968.
While serving with the 25th Infantry Division in Vietnam, he earned the Combat
Infantry Badge, the Silver Star, three Purple Hearts and the Bronze Star. Kenny served our country until discharged with honors April 16, 1970. Returning to Las Vegas, Kenny worked as a maitre d in may prestigious casinos on the Strip.
He was highly respected by patrons, employers, employees and many entertainers in Las Vegas. After retiring from the Strip, Kenny spent his days with his grandkids and greatgrandkids, always there to spend time with family and friends. Kenny is survived by his wife, Roberta children, Kenneth, Rodney, Steven and Sherry 14 grandchildren and
seven greatgrandchildren. Visitation will begin Friday, March 19, until the funeral service, which will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 23, both at 10762 Giles St., in Las Vegas. Burial will be at 10:40 a.m. Wednesday, March 24, at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, in Boulder City.
