Larry Jay Fisher

May 9, 1939 — March 10, 2026

Las Vegas, Nevada

Larry Jay Fisher, originally from Harvey, ND peacefully passed away on
March 10, 2026. A resident of the Las Vegas area since 1969, Larry was
born on May 9, 1939 to Evelyn (Ostrem) and Donald Fisher in Wells
County, North Dakota. Larry will be remembered most notably for his
passion and talent for painting trains and his eternal love for his family. His
dedication and love for trains came from being raised in a railroad family
and when he wasn’t painting he would spend time traveling, golfing,
watching baseball and having a beer with friends on a Saturday night.

He grew up in North Dakota and after graduating from Harvey High School
in 1957, he enlisted in the United States Air Force. He was honorably
discharged in 1962 from the service and briefly worked in Fargo, ND as a
taxi driver and cameraman upon meeting his future wife. Then in 1969
after moving to Las Vegas, NV he married the love of his life, the late Carol
Ann Brunsvold on November 8, 1969, where they raised their two children,
Sheryl and Jon. He worked as the Art Director at KTNV Channel 13 for
over 30 years, making endless friends and displaying his talent as an artist.
In 1998 he retired from Channel 13 and started to devote more time to his
artwork at Heritage Art Editions and planning vacations with his wife. They
loved traveling to countless places, but one of their best trips, which
started his endless love of Hawaii was with Stan and Luella Schroeder, his
high school classmates and lifelong friends.

Those left to cherish his memory include his son Jon Fisher of Las Vegas,
daughter-in-law Mika Fisher, daughter Sheryl (Fisher) Wilczynski and son
in-law Art Wilczynski of Las Vegas, grandchildren Preston Wilczynski,
Tommy Fisher, Lola Fisher, a niece Sandy Fisher and 3 nephews David,
Tom and Joe Fisher in Montana and North Dakota. Larry is predeceased
by his parents, Evelyn and Don Fisher, his brother Darrell Fisher, and his
wife of 49 years, Carol Fisher.
