Laura J. Merrill

Laura is a old fashioned mid-western girl that came to Vegas and became an old fashioned mid-western Vegas girl. A strong independent woman that was a loving caring mother. Laura's laugh was infectious and always had an amazing smile and a twinkle in her eye. She loved the outdoors, the Beatles and spending time with her husband and their dog Seymour.

Laura succumbed to her ALS on January 9th, 2026. Before she was stricken with ALS she was a strong, independent, caring mother to three boys ( Adam, Ian, and Alex ) who are now men. Her life was cut short sadly but she enjoyed the privilege of being a grandmother.

In 1980, Laura met her soul mate, Craig Merrill as two employees at Kentucky Fried Chicken in Muscatine. Craig got the courage to ask Laura out and they had their first date May 19th, 1980.

From that point on they were tied at the hip. One year later June 12th, they got married. A marriage of 44 and a half years and a lifetime of love.

While Laura leaves behind her loving husband and a large family, her memory and that twinkle in her eye will never be forgotten.
