Henderson

Leonor Elsa Alonso, affectionately known as "Mami" and "Abuela," passed away peacefully on November 22, 2025, in Las Vegas, Nevada, at the age of 81. Her life was a testament to strength, faith, and unwavering devotion to her family and community.

Born on February 22, 1944, in Cuba, Leonor carried with her a deep cultural heritage and a resilient spirit that shaped every chapter of her life. She built a legacy rooted in hard work and compassion—qualities that defined her both personally and professionally.

Leonor had a lifelong passion for fashion and entrepreneurship. She proudly owned her own boutique, where her keen eye for style and dedication to excellence left a lasting impression on all who walked through her doors. Her boutique was more than just a business; it was an extension of her creativity and determination.

Her faith in God was the cornerstone of her life. A devoted churchgoer, Leonor attended services weekly and took an active role in supporting the churches she loved. She was always eager to give back to the spiritual communities that nurtured her soul. Her generosity knew no bounds; she would give the shirt off her back to help someone in need, especially if it was family.

Leonor’s love for her family was boundless. She is lovingly remembered by her sons Anthony Alonso and his wife Karen, and Robert Alonso; grandchildren Raquel Jordan and her husband Rondell, Alexandra Bence and her husband Stephen, Maxine Ellis and her husband Roy, Richard Alonso, Nicole Alonso, and Noah Alonso; as well as great-grandchildren Lilah Bence, Gabriela Jordan, and Eli Jordan. Each of them carries forward pieces of Leonor’s legacy; her kindness, humor, resilience, and deep-rooted faith.

She is reunited in peace with those who passed before her: her grandson Robert Alonso, her sisters: Herminia Albanes, Felipa Oliva and Edelmira Amador, her brother Raul Albanes, and her parents in heaven Eloisa and Antonio Albanes.

Leonor will be remembered for the incredible work ethic she maintained throughout her life—a woman who never shied away from hard work or sacrifice when it came to providing for those she loved. Her kind heart touched many lives; her charming personality lit up every room; and her sense of humor brought joy even during difficult times.

May Leonor Elsa Alonso’s memory continue to inspire all who knew her. Her legacy of love, faith, generosity, and strength will live on through generations.
