Lonnie Davis Watkins

October 20, 1961 — July 26, 2022

Lonnie Davis Watkins is now dwelling in the House of our Lord and Savior, his body restored, his pain removed, and surrounded by family and friends who preceded him.

Lonnie was the oldest brother to Charles and Clay Watkins, uncle to some awesome nieces and a nephew, all of whom are greatly saddened by his passing, but comforted by the fact that he is no longer alone, no longer dealing with physical ailments, and no longer haunted by his past.

To be sure, Lonnie's life was filled with struggle. He was born with cerebral palsy, grew up in a hard family situation, and dealt with many painful experiences as an adult. Even so, he persevered, moved forward, and always kept his faith in Jesus.

There were many good times as well. I remember the oldest brother who took me to the state fair, bought me ride tickets when I ran out of money, treated me to hot dogs, and was smiling as I enjoyed being a kid. He was the quintessential older brother who was always looking out for Clay and me, and he valued family so very much.

Lonnie, we were blessed to have you as our brother. Rest in peace man! Much love!
