Louis Carmine Russo, 89, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, passed away on March 22, 2026, surrounded by his family. Born on January 13, 1937, he was the son of father Vincent Russo and Mother Helen Russo. Louis worked in restaurant management for many years, but his true passion was playing the horses and the dogs at the track with his best friend and wife Rita, his father, siblings, children, family, and friends. He was a devoted husband to his wife Rita and a loving father to his children Debbie, Susan, Louis Jr., Mary, Helen, Becky, Glenda, Suzanne and Son-in-laws James Taylor, Les Holub, Vern Gray, John Schmid and Richard Sitongia (was preceded in death). Louis also survived by his grandchildren, David Magaldi, Theresa Magaldi, Anthony Sitongia, Ruth'ann Sitongia, Grace Fajardo, Amy Fessenden, Louie Russo, Rachel Martinez, Gia Kearney, John Kearney, Sara Boevree, Dustin Smith, Heather Vansickle, Aspen Gilligan, Hailee Honacker, Hope Holland, Holli Holland, Beau Holland, Brittany Taylor, as well as his many great-grandchildren. Louis was preceded in death by his father and mother, Vincent and Helen Russo, alongside his siblings Anthony Russo, Eileen Russo, and Loretta McDonough. Louis proudly served in the U.S. Navy as a Seaman apprentice from January 31, 1955, to January 30, 1963. His legacy of devotion to his family and friends, also his unwavering perseverance will be carried forward by those who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be greatly missed and forever remembered.
