Luis F. Zaragoza, 77, passed away peacefully at home after a battle with lung cancer on September 19, 2025.
Luis was born in Juarez, Mexico to Felipe and Paula Zaragoza on January 18, 1948. He was married to his wife Yolanda Zaragoza for 57 years, they have three children, Luis Jr., Patricia, and Oscar.
He came to Las Vegas with his family in 1968, where he spent the first half of his career working in hospitality on the Las Vegas strip for 20 years. During that time, he earned his real estate license where he took great pride in helping his family and community find their homes and land for many years after.
Luis loved spending time with his family, showing his grandkids Marisa, Alexa, Jacob, Mathew and Zoe how to play soccer, how to catch bugs in the backyard, and teaching the kids about their heritage with his famous anecdotes, one chili pepper at a time. When he wasn’t marveling at the great outdoors, he was watching soccer, baseball and boxing. He loved listening to his favorite music. He will be remembered for his celebratory spirit, sense of humor, and willingness to help in times of need.
He is survived by his wife, three children and their spouses, his five grandchildren, his remaining sisters, and his many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. on October 8th at Davis Funeral Home.
