Marc Latimer Svanoe, age 54, passed away on November 2, 2018 in Las Vegas, NV.
Marc was born in Minneapolis, MN to Rennard Svanoe and Carol Hawkins Svanoe on October 27, 1964.
Marc grew up in East Troy, Wisconsin, enjoyed swimming and biking, proudly played first chair trombone with the high school band, and developed a life-long loyalty to the Green Bay Packers. He graduated from East Troy High School in 1983 and enlisted in the U.S. Navy, where he was trained in storekeeping and military leadership. He saw action in Operation Desert Storm and invited his father to join him for a Tiger Cruise on board 3 different ships. Marc was honorably discharged in 1993. Marc's most notable career was as a mail handler and team leader at the U.S. Post Office in Las Vegas for 20 years. Marc is highly respected for his decision to become sober in August of 2016. He lived at the Ventura Sober Home in Las Vegas and became a mentor and encouragement to many in the AA community.
Marc is survived by his brother and sister, Todd and Colette Svanoe of Minneapolis, MN, mother Carol Svanoe of Edina, MN and father Rennard Svanoe of Chihuahua, Mexico, as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins throughout the Midwest.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, November 6, from 5-7pm at Davis Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89119. Funeral services will be held in the Davis Funeral Home Chapel at 7pm. Please join us and bring a story from Marc's life to share.
