Margarita Campos, also known as Doña Magus, went to be with the Lord at the age of 77, surrounded by her devoted family, including her daughter Reina, grandsons Jerry and Juan Jr, sisters Silvia and Angela, as well as her cherished nieces and nephews. Born on August 17, 1947, in D.F., Mexico, to Eliboria Sanchez and Conrado Zamora, Margarita led a life defined by dedication, resilience, and compassion.
In her early years, Margarita worked at VIPs Restaurant in Mexico City, taking great pride in her role and often recalling memorable encounters with renowned guests her eyes sparkling with joy of those memories. Her pursuit of new opportunities brought her to Baldwin Park, California, where she built a life with her husband and raised their two children, Juan Campos and Reina Campos. Beyond her immediate family, Margarita served as a foster mother, generously offering care and support to numerous children in need.
Later relocating to Las Vegas in 1991, she was employed as a housekeeper at Bally’s Hotel and Casino for sixteen years until her retirement. Renowned for storytelling of hauntings, Margarita captivated those around her with engaging accounts from her time at the hotel, delivered with her characteristic enthusiasm.
Margarita deeply appreciated simple pleasures, especially playing bingo, were her laughter and competitive spirit lit up the room. She also enjoyed spending time in parks feeding birds, always ensuring none were left unattended. Her legacy continues through her seven grandchildren, who inherit her affection, vibrant spirit, and love of sharing stories.
Margarita discovered the greatest gift one can ever be bestowed: Salvation and a relationship with her Savior and Redeemer Jesus Christ. Her faith and trust in Him brought her solace and peace in her last days, knowing that this life is just a precursor to eternity, and that He was waiting to receive her in His loving arms.
She is survived by her children, Juan and Reina Campos; her seven grandchildren; siblings Silvia, Angela, and Filiberto; as well as her extended family and friends who will forever honor her memory.
