Margie Socha Autrey

Margie Jane (Socha) Autrey, 70, of Las Vegas, Nevada passed away on April 21, 2023 following a long illness. She was born on September 19th, 1952 to Margie and George Socha in San Angelo TX. After graduating from Sacred Heart Catholic school in 1970, she later attended Angelo State University, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry in 1974. She worked as a blood laboratory technician and later a blood banker, retiring from Quest Diagnostics in 2014. Growing up, she enjoyed feeding the baby calves on her father’s dairy farm and training the family dogs to do tricks. She carried that love of animals, especially dogs, throughout her life by adopting dogs from local animal shelters.

Margie is preceded in death by her mother Margie Socha (née Krizan) and her father George Fred Socha of San Angelo TX. Margie is survived by her husband David Earl Autrey of Las Vegas NV, brother Neal Socha of Fort Worth TX, and stepson Dr. Daniel Eric Autrey of Fayetteville, NC.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations to your local humane society or no-kill animal shelter be made in Margie’s name.
