Mary Jean Tallo, 96, of Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away on August 19, 2026, after a short illness.

Mary was born on May 8, 1930 in Providence, Rhode Island to Crescenzo Tallo and Adeline Torromeo Tallo.

A lifelong Catholic, Mary was a proud alumna of the University of California at Los Angeles and spent many years teaching high school civics in the Los Angeles area. She was an avid reader who loved opera and art. She loved to travel, especially with her UCLA alumni group. Mary loved her family and was a constant, loving presence in their lives.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Anna Tallo, her brothers Fred and Henry Tallo and her beloved niece, Elizabeth Tallo Snyder.

She is survived by her brother Richard C. Tallo (Judy) of Bonita Springs, FL and sister, Louise Raspallo (Robert) of Bonita Springs, FL; her nephews, Rich (Nessa) of Princeton, NJ; Luke Raspallo of Cumberland, RI; Fred Tallo, Jr. of Cullman, AL; Richard A. Tallo (LaJuan) of Cullman, AL; James Tallo (Yolanda) of Apple Valley, CA and Robert Snyder of Las Vegas; her nieces, Leah Miguel (Shawn) of Stantonville, TN; Monica Raspallo (Rob Cocoran) of Cumberland, RI and Bridget Seigle of Lincoln, RI.

She is also survived by a special great-nephew, Christopher Snyder of Las Vegas, for whom she was like a grandmother. She is survived by numerous great nephews and nieces, and great-grandnephews and grandnieces, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 9 from 6-7 pm at Davis Chapel, 6200 S. Eastern Ave., Las Vegas

Funeral mass will be on Thursday, Sept. 10 at 11 am at St. Viator Catholic Church, 2461 E. Flamingo Road, Las Vegas.

Graveside service to follow at Davis Cemetery, 6200 Eastern Ave., Las Vegas, Nevada at 1 p.m.
