Nelson Boyes Hedgpeth 85 of Las Vegas Nevada passed away June 23, 2025 in Las Vegas Nevada.

Nelson was born in Phoenix Arizona to Lela May Daniel Hedgpeth and Boyes Ryle Hedgpeth on August 23, 1939.

Nelson graduated from Tolleson Union High School. After high school Nelson when into the Navy. While in the navy he met and married Effie Kathleen Murphy August 20 1963. Using skills obtained from the Navy Nelson was able to provide for has large family. Such as employment as prison guard, contractor set up and moving noble homes. Until he obtained employment in the hospitality industry as electronic maintenance engineer until he retired from the Excalibur Casino. Nelson enjoyed camping, fishing, playing poker, watching Nascar.

Nelson is precedent in death by Boyes and Lela May Hedgpeth ,Paul Douglas Brown, Larry Hedgpeth, Gary Hedgpeth, Maxine Stotts. Effie Hedgpeth short three days after Nelson passed.

Nelson is survived by Hal(Shannon) Brown, Miranda Brown, Tracy Goulet, Rosalind Howard, Samantha Goris, Stacey (Tye) Woodward, Madeleine (Greg) Carney, Nelson Hedgpeth(junior), Clifford (Sherry) Hedgpeth, Susan (James) White and Many Grand Children and Great Grand Children

Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m Saturday July 26, 2025 at Davis Funeral Home and Memorial park 6200 S Eastern Ave, Las Vegas Nevada 89119 with James White officiating. Layer to rest at in 1900 Veterans Memorial Cemetery.



Effie Kathleen Hedgpeth 87 of Las Vegas Nevada passed away June 26, 2025 in Las Vegas Nevada.

Effie was born in Thornton Kentucky to Mary and William Murphy on January 14, 1938.

Effie moved from Kentucky where she married and had four children. Effie than met and married Nelson Hedgpeth on August 20, 1963. Effie had six more children. Effie worked for many years also side her husband than went on too work in the hospitality business as switch board operator at the Excalibur Casino until she retired. Effie was a strong woman who knew what she wanted in life. Effie enjoyed talking with her children and grand children ever week. She cherished those moments. Effie enjoyed watching NASCAR racing (especially Jimmy Johnson) playing slots and BINGO. Effie always loved having her family around. She would always say the more the better.

Effie is preceded in death by Nelson Hedgpeth, Paul Douglas Brown, Anna Johnson, James Goris, William Murphy, Mary Murphy, and Desi.

Effie is survived by Hal(Shannon) Brown, Miranda Brown, Tracy Goulet, Rosalind Howard, Samantha Goris, Stacey (Tye) Woodward, Madeleine (Greg) Carney, Nelson Hedgpeth(junior), Clifford (Sherry) Hedgpeth,Lester Murphy, Billy Murphy, Susan (James) White and Many Grand Children and Great Grand Children
