Patricia Ann Wilson

Jun 11, 1940 — May 1, 2026

Las Vegas, Nevada

Patricia Ann Wilson, age 85, of Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 1, 2026.

Born June 11,1940 in Jamestown, New York, Patricia was the daughter of the late Robert and June Thayer. She was a woman deeply devoted to her family as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt ,and sister. She was a constant source of love and laughter.

Patrica loved to travel, and would often pack up the car and kids and take some very interesting trips. Since she was married to a military serviceman, who was gone every six months for years, she had a tough role of keeping the family going while he was gone. In addition to taking care of the house and kids alone for often months at a time, she would have to pack up an entire household every year or two to change duty stations. However, this gave the family the opportunity to travel back and forth across the country, stopping at every point of interest along the way, from the Washington Monument to the Rocky Mountains to the Painted Desert. She loved it, even despite paper maps and kids fighting in the back seat.

She was a devoted grandmother and spent many hours with the children reading, doing puzzles, craft projects, attending school events, and many more hours sitting at playgrounds so the kids could stay entertained. You could always count on grandma to take you, pick you up, and cover for mom and dad while they were working.

In addition to attending her grandchildren’s sporting events, she was a big fan of sports in general, including college football and basketball, professional European soccer, baseball and Nascar. She might even partake in a “touchdown shot” every once in a while.

Her kind heart also extended to animals. She was a lifelong animal lover. Some of her favorite people were her pets and grandpets (Honey,Chloe, River, and Emmy). To this day she supports and feeds a protected colony of feral cats in her old neighborhood, even adopting two of the kittens (Midnight and Angel).

Patricia is survived by her brother, John Thayer; her children, Pam (PJ) Duer and son-in-law Burton Ogilvie, and Sheri Wilson and son-in-law Tim Farkas. She was the beloved grandmother of Jesse Oropeza, Kale Wilson, Kara Wilson Kutlesa, Kasen Wilson, Kamren Wilson, Kai Wilson, Georgia Farkas, Callan Farkas and great-grandchild Kaden Wilson.

She was preceded in death by her parents Robert and June Thayer Jr., her brother Richard Thayer, her beloved husband Donald K. Wilson, and her son Mark A. Wilson. Her legacy of kindness, her humble spirit, and sense of humor will be forever cherished by those she loved.
