Pauline P. Flippin

Pauline P. (Polly) Flippin, 98 of Las Vegas, was suddenly called home by our heavenly father on March 21, 2018 in Las Vegas.

She had long awaited spending eternity with her loving husband of seventy years, T. O. Flippin,
who died ten years ago.

Polly was born in Caddo County, Oklahoma to Mansel and Jewel Hardin on August 3, 1919.

A local seamstress, who not only mended the needs of her children and husband but during the 1960's did costume work and mending for the Las Vegas High School Rythemetts, as well as custom sewing for various friends and relatives. She continued her love of sewing to the very end, making adjustments to hems and pant legs for her friends at Legacy House on Durango where she lived the past two years. Her passion was making quilts and knitting scarves to give away to family and friends.

Polly was also a businesswoman and was one of the founding partners of Flippin's Trenching Company of Las Vegas where, in the beginning, she answered the phone, booked work to do and dispatched men and equipment. Flippin's Trenching, due to her guidance, grew to be of the largest and oldest specialty excavation contractors, still in business today, in the State of Nevada.

Polly is preceded in death by her father and mother, her husband of seventy years, T.O. Flippin, three brothers, and five sisters, and one granddaughter.

Polly is survived by sons Kenneth (Valerie), Tom (Skipper) and Hal (Lisa), brothers, Tass (Lois) Hardin of Las Vegas and Tom Hardin of Oxford Kansas, seven Grandchildren, thirteen great Grandchildren, and one great-great Grandchild and another great-great Grandchild on the way,
Daughters-in-law, Madeline and Joyce, and many nieces and nephews all across the United States.

Visitation will be held at Davis Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 6200 S. Eastern Ave., Las Vegas, NV on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with services following at 12:00. Services to be officiated by Reverend Veneta (Skipper) Flippin.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in the name of Polly Flippin be made to the Salvation Army.
