Presentacion Palomo

Presentacion Palomo, 77, of Las Vegas, NV, passed away on Saturday, August 12, 2023 in Las Vegas.

Presentacion was born in the small town of Sagua de Tanamo, Oriente, Cuba to Luis Gongora and Carmen Fernandez.

She loved her grandchildren and family!  Presentacion, or Chicha, to her close friends and family, was a great cook and loved to share food with the family.  She also enjoyed going to the beach and bathing in the warm Caribbean sea!

Chicha immigrated legally to the US via Spain in 1974 to escape the communist regime in Cuba.  She lived in New Jersey until 1989 when she and Eduardo moved to Las Vegas.  She worked as a Casino Porter for the Sands Hotel from 1990 until it closed in 1996.  She then worked as a Porter at Caesar’s Palace and retired from that organization.

Chicha is survived by her husband of 57 years, Eduardo; her children: Ed Palomo, Yolanda Palomo, her husband, Cristhiano Barbosa, and Gabrielle Crawford; her grandchildren: Isabella Barbosa and Roman Palomo; her siblings: sister, Carmen Luisa; brothers, Carlos & Ricardo; her in-laws:  Faustina Toledo, Maria (Mimi) Palomo and Jorge Palomo; and all her nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, August 16, 2023 at Davis Funeral Home, 6200 S Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, 89119.

The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the doctors and nurses that treated her over the last three years while fighting cancer: Dr. Butt and the chemo nurses; Mountainview emergency room staff who always treated her with care; and the amazing staff of Nathan Adelson Hospice and in particular her home care team of CNA, Faye, and  RN, Lee Ann.
