During the Korean War, he displayed great bravery and rose to the rank of Sergeant.

After his military service, Ray began a fulfilling career with the Southern California Gas Company, where he worked as the Customer Services Chief for the East Valley Division for 33 years until his retirement in 1990. Not only was he admired for his dedication and expertise, but he also built lasting friendships with his colleagues.

In 1980, Ray crossed paths with the love of his life, Loretta Boyles, and their bond grew stronger with each passing day. They sealed their love with marriage in Las Vegas in 1987. Following his retirement, Ray and Loretta relocated to Nevada and settled in Pahrump, where they enjoyed a peaceful and joyful life together for the past 17 years.

Additionally, Ray's expertise led him to become an enrolled agent with the IRS, enabling him to assist countless individuals with their tax matters, providing them with invaluable support.

Traveling the world brought immense joy to Ray and Loretta's lives, and they created unforgettable memories during their journeys. From the sandy beaches of Mexico to the vibrant streets of Jamaica, and from the picturesque landscapes of Seattle, WA, to the bustling metropolis of New York, they embraced new cultures and experienced the wonders of different places.

Raymond leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish his memory. He is survived by his devoted wife, Loretta Grant of Pahrump, NV. His son and daughter-in-law, Ray (Terry) and Natalie Grant of Pahrump, NV, shared a deep bond and will carry his legacy forward. His daughter and son-in-law, Sherri and Gerald Martin of Inglewood, CA, hold dear the precious moments they shared with their beloved father.

Raymond's life also touched the hearts of his stepchildren: Richard and Paula Brice of Colorado, and Connie and Alan Richardson of Overton, NV. He was a cherished figure in their lives, and his warmth and guidance will be greatly missed.

Ray's presence will forever be felt in the lives of his numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great great-grandchildren. His love and wisdom will be passed down through the generations, shaping the future of his family.
