Reyna Alberty

August 31, 2017 — January 10, 2023

To our beloved daughter Reyna Joyce Alberty

“Queen” Reyna Joyce Alberty was born on August 31, 2017, at 2:39 pm, at Mountain View Hospital. She was only 6 lbs and 10 oz, and 18 ½ inches long.

Reyna passed away on January 10,  2023, at 12:37 pm in Summerlin Hospital. Her parents were with her the whole time her last few days, until her final breath. Her whole life of 5 years she was so wonderful, amazing, and filled with joy. She was very independent and liked to do things on her own. Reyna loved exploring and was our curious little girl.  Reyna Joyce was a great “little mama” to her siblings, Brian Dwayne Jr., Fabiola Marie, and “Tiny” Tiffany Irenia. She was our little helper in our home.

Reyna always wanted to go to school and loved going on the bus with her brother and sister. She liked learning new things and improving her speaking. She loved drawing, painting, playing with play-doh, and socializing with friends. She also loved playing on the playground. Reyna attended Pre-Kindergarten at Vegas Verdes Elementary School, and then for a short time attended Decker Elementary. Lastly, she attended Thiroit Elementary School for a short time before we had to withdraw her from school due to her health issues. Reyna would take her nap after school, she loved to eat parmesan-butter spaghetti, and pizza without toppings, only parmesan.  Her favorite breakfast was just pork links or bacon and pancakes, and chorizo and eggs wrapped in a tortilla. Reyna and her sisters enjoyed music, playing guitar and piano were her favorites. The 3 girls would dance and sing together for long periods of time. Reyna’s favorite sport to play was soccer, she was always kicking the ball everywhere in the house. Reyna was always a Daddy’s girl, since she was a baby. She always had to know where Dad was going. The last few months she liked hearing the motorcycle by our room near the parking lot. Reyna would tell her lovely, beautiful Mommy that Daddy is home every night. Reyna was also a Mommy’s girl in the kitchen, helping mommy cook meals. She was so good at knowing what ingredients needed to be added next without mommy asking. Reyna loved baking cakes, and we would decorate them in her own way. They always came out so pretty.

The last few months of 2022 Reyna was battling brain cancer. During her 9 week chemo treatment Reyna was so brave, courageous, and had great positive thoughts. Sadly, that kind of treatment did not improve her sweet, innocent health. Reyna’s health started going downhill slowly on December 7, 2022 but continued to get worse for the last few weeks. She went to Salt Lake City, Utah with her dad for anything to make her feel better, but nothing could make her better since the monster tumor had grown and spread very quickly through her spine and lungs. Remember that our daughter Reyna is strong, she was a little warrior girl that fought for her life as much as she could. The tumor was just too aggressive.

Our little baby girl, you are a blessing gift from Heaven above. Our precious little angel that we will always cherish and love. You were the greatest gift of all. You’re in our hearts forever!
