Rhoda Garcia McFadden, of Henderson, Nevada, passed away peacefully on August 10, 2026, at the age of 90.

Born on January 6, 1936, in Claveria Cagayan, Philippines, daughter of Eugenio Garcia and Dionicia Deleon, Rhoda carried with her a lifelong love of learning and service. She earned her Bachelor of Arts from Far Eastern University in Manila, Philippines, and later shared that gift as a Bilingual Teacher at Wonder Park Elementary in Anchorage, Alaska, from 1993 to 1995.

Rhoda was kind and selfless, always putting others first. She found joy in the quiet, beautiful things — her beloved plants and fabrics, her travels, and her songs. She loved to sew and to tend to her plants, filling her home with color, texture, and life. Family will fondly remember her singing Beauty and the Beast all over the house, a melody that still lingers in every room she touched.
